It's been a long time since I last made my entry here. I'm now working as a neonatal nurse! ^-^ yey! It's my favorite nursing subject in college, my work would almost be perfect if only people stick to the ideal bubble you label as "co-workers" you have in your head. Since I can't seem to be able to tell anyone and all my friends and family are back in Manila and my work-mother wants me to practice typing perfectly and correctly, I'm going to vent out my findings in my blog :P
1.First off you have "The BOSS"
- This person is someone that either everyone hates or loves. Mine apparently falls in one of those categories too. The boss has her moments, everyone does, especially for ladies we are hormonal creatures more so for the people who don't have children/ menopausal and is surrounded by people who have tons of children or very young and fertile. I'm not saying that the description is exclusive to my boss, but it can be applied to all the bosses that I've so far observed. They can either be very hard-working, pretend to be very hard working, or not be working at all. I'd have to commend those who pretend to be very hard working, pretending is really hard work. :P Anyway, the Boss can make your life in the workplace heaven or hell. Heaven is what I call the benefits of major suck-ups, they have the best schedules, the best work loads, the best vacation leaves, the easiest to get any sort of requests, these are just some of the few perks of being chums with the Boss. Hell the definition for the people who the Boss dislikes. These people have the worst schedule, they work like bat-shit-crazy folks, they don't get nice perks, they can't make requests that are reasonable. Sounds a little fictional, but my dear it happens. Trust my innoce in this sense is shattered.. totally.
- These are the other people you work with either higher rank, same rank or lower rank than you. The higher rank or the seniors, they either hate you or like you. If you're lucky and the seniors like you, take your chance and learn as much as you can they are the best teachers because of experience, keep in mind though that they also sometimes make mistakes we are humans so accumulate whatever correct knowledge that could better your work/ practice. The same rank people, these people also either hate you or like you. In my case same rank people constitutes people near my age. Since I'm the newbie they've all grouped together and thus you are an outsider. Like any hierarchy in High school there is the Queen B- the biggest B**** of them all. Watch out for these people because usually they have major crab mentality, they pull you down, bash you behind your back, use insults to make you feel bad, tease you for your imperfections (like she's the perfect being of all). Try to ignore and cry at home.. NEVER show this B that she won, that is the B's greatest satisfaction. Oh by the way this person LOVES attention to the next level, stay clear away. The people who like you are divided into two parts usually they are part of the B's group or had been part of the group. Lets start first with the current up to date members of the group. These people usually are making friends with you because the B needs a mole/s to find stuff out (Bs are also very good spies) my advice.. Shut your mouth and keep you thoughts to your head or better yet follow my example and stick to blogging. They don't really like you, or if they do they can't because the B is WATCHING! Anyway the ex-groupie would entail that he/she had a bad encounter with the B and has never patch things up, this person is doing the same stuff as you being quiet and staying far away from the B's path and stupid mouth. Listen up if this person tells you about the experience. It's good tactical advice.
Love Lots,
Kathy O.
