AHA! Days..

This entry is for Tuesday, Wednesday (yesterday) and today.

Tuesday & Yesterday.
It was our first ever real exposure in D OhAR (O.R.) on wed. which is totally nakakaloka because on our first day in there (that was Tuesday) we were just hanging out in suite 9 "the hunted suite" (sadly, it wasn't as scary as my overactive imagination imagined.. :( ) anyway i saw 2 craniotomy cases on Tuesday, i saw a real live brain with blood sadly a glass window was separating me from it. then the surgeon had to "kalkal"/ Rummage for something in the medial part(middle part, the slice on the left and right brain) so my view was yet again blocked. oh well. return demo with sir G.T. was hard and toxic talaga, as in (SOOPER! X|). thankfully i did okay :D haha back to wednesday. Duty with Ma'am Gare. True to all rumors she takes A LOT of breaks. grabe. me, pato and ken were grouped together and we were the unlucky/ "malas" group because we were stuck with the drug analysis while the other three groups got to watch some live action behind the glass windows. anyway, in the end we were also able to witness the crainiotomy. which is so cool in a morbid way cause the surgeons had to drill two separate holes on one side of the brain, extract some blood (which is like motor oil. bad yun kasi dapat bright red and blood sa brain), put in sterile water to replace the blood (para di ma-shock yung brain), put a drain (as in parang hose na mallit, parang NGT). cool db? :D then on the other suite meron nanaman case. Ortho so i saw a leg being operated on and the patient was.. brace yourself.. WIDE AWAKE. as in. grabe. with all the sawing, drlling, pulling, pushing going on. oh well. the wonders of anesthesia. ok so it was 4 already and the cranio case (Bur-holing procedure) was almost done, they were just beautifying the patient.. (in short stapling the head, placing the plaster and putting the cap for the drain and lastly puting generous amounts of cutasept for sterility) when i got tired and went to the student's room to get a sip of water. (i get thirsty. i'm human. sorry na..) suddenly maan came in and was in a hurry to get a student nurse for Ma'am.. me being soooper dumb thought that she needed help with something.. little did i know i was volunteering myself for 2 and a half hours of cesarean section. Gosh. i was the circulating nurse and tsups (Kim Ong) was the scrub nurse so technically i didn't have to worry because all i had to do was tie the gowns prep the gloves, stand and watch. and stand i did. my lower back ached like hell. @ 6: 15 P.M. on Febuary 17, 2010. i witnessed my first ever cesarean delivery. the baby was the biggest, whites, longest baby i've ever seen. SOOPER BIG. the crazy part was when the baby was puled out it wasn't crying which meant a. it's dead or b. it has a medical condition. looking at it both ways, it's BAD men.. BAD i tel you. when it (i say it cause from the wall you really don't actually see any testicle or penises..XD)did cry i said ALLELUIA (to myself of course, that was the time i remembered the anesthesia also affects the baby XD wahaha tanga..) oh well.. morbid but fun.. to be continued.. :))
